In a small area of Mennetou-sur-Cher, ZE Energy, with the support of the municipality, has developed a hybrid solar power plant with battery storage. The storage allows to ensure the stability of the electricity supply, avoiding frequency variations and micro-cuts. The Mennetou-sur-Cher solar power plant is the first hybrid solar power plant in mainland France.
This solar power plant project was conducted in consultation with local stakeholders, with participatory financing offered to the inhabitants of neighboring departments, in order to involve everyone in the challenges of energy transition.
Skyray has been mandated for the construction of this ground mounted PV power plant with storage to carry out the approval of the execution studies and the supervision of the construction, before carrying out the on-site tests. Skyray has selected a highly experienced and capable team for the proposed assignment, including experts from our partner Everoze especially for the storage systems.
The 8.1MW photovoltaic power plant, combined with 4.3 MWh of storage, will produce 9300 MWh annually, thanks to more than 23,000 photovoltaic modules. The production is equivalent to the consumption of about 3200 homes per year, while reducing emissions by 840 tons of CO2 per year.
