Junior Solar Project Manager in Portugal

The Solar Project Manager leads the development and construction of solar projects on behalf of Skyray’s customers, being involved from the design phase to the commissioning of the plant.

Depending on experience, the Solar Project Manager may also act as a technical expert, as well as providing commercial support for projects.

Contract : Permanent 

Workplace :  Lisboa, Portugal

Work regime : Mostly presential, with flexibility few days/month

Travel : Occasional travel to be expected, mostly in Portugal

Remuneration :  According to profile and experience

Experience : 1-5 years

Reporting line : Technical Director and Country manager

Skyray designs and engineers great solar PV project, including energy storage. Our focus is on large scale ground-mounted solar PV.

We provide design and construction supervision services for our clients – leading owners, developers and EPCs, covering the entire project life-cycle (feasibility studies, design, construction, commissioning, operation and repowering of PV plants).

Skyray headquarters are based in Lyon, France, with employees in several European countries (Portugal, England, Germany, and France).

Skyray is a subsidiary of Everoze, an independent consultancy specialising in renewable energy, energy storage and flexibility.


As part of our growth in the Iberia region we are looking for a talented Solar Project Manager to join our team in Lisbon. The role mainly consists in managing large scale photovoltaic power plant projects, in some cases in combination with storage, across the different phases of the project, with the support of the technical expert team.

The candidate is also expected to have, or be willing to develop, additional technical skills like PV plant design, energy assessments, site supervision/construction monitoring, etc.

We are flexible in the level of previous experience; the activities performed and internal support required will be defined according to the profile/experience of the selected candidate.

As project manager

  • Development: provide technical support to Owners along the different phases of the project (feasibility, design, permitting, tendering for construction).

  • Construction: an important part of the work will be on site. You will supervise the construction, control the quality and ensure construction works run smoothly and on time.

  • Cost: control internal costs to make sure the job is done within the budget agreed with the client.

  • Coordinate: ensure coordination of the various project stakeholders (clients, external service providers, subcontractors, etc.).

As electrical or construction expert

  • Design: carry out PV plant design / design review on different aspects of PV projects (civil, electrical, mechanical)

  • Energy assessment: perform energy assessment using standard industry tools.

  • Regulation/standard: be familiar with the main national and international standards applicable to PV plants in Portugal. 


Skyray is a young company and our administrative and technical procedures are evolving as we grow. You will be able to support us shaping the future of the company, being involved in the overall business management activities, although those are expected to represent a small portion of your time. These can include the following activities:

  • Business development activities (e.g. attending to events, contacting clients, etc)

  • Drafting and implementation of new procedures

  • Optimisation of existing internal methods and processes



  • Educational background in engineering, ideally in electrical engineer.


  • Fluent in Portuguese and English. French or Spanish is a plus.

Technical skills

  • Project management skills.

  • Experience in the construction of PV projects and EPC contracts. Experience in other construction activities will also be valued.

  • Strong expertise in electricity, particularly in grid connection. Alternatively, the candidate might also have civil or structural background.

  • Knowledge in SCADA systems applied to the fields of energy production and storage.

  • Good writing skills, ability to write technical reports and commercial offers.

  • Knowledge of the main design softwares applicable to solar PV (PVSyst, Caneco, PowerFactory, Autocad, Helios 3D) and to project management (MS Project).

  • Familiar with the Portuguese permitting framework for energy projects.

Soft skills

  • Good communication skills. Ability to understand clients’ needs and communicating to technical and non-technical audience.

  • Team spirit and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Rigorous in the follow-up of documentation review, respect of deadlines, quality and costs.

  • Organised and able to manage several projects at the same time.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally in Portugal (eventually abroad).
