SKYRAY

Driven by the climate crisis and cost reductions, there is an urgent need for new capability to design and engineer our PV future. Skyray has been set up as a pureplay solar design and engineering company – scalable, adaptable and with solar-storage ‘baked in’. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable zero carbon energy system with solar PV at its core

Skyray is a subsidiary of Everoze, which is an independent consultancy company specialised in renewable energy, energy storage and flexibility and has its headquarters in Bristol (UK).

Skyray headquarters are based in Lyon (France) and has a subsidiary in Lisbon (Portugal). Skyray also works with Partners in several other European countries (UK, Ireland, Spain, etc.). Skyray designs and engineers great solar PV projects, including energy storage where applicable. Our focus is mainly on large scale ground-mounted solar PV where we provide design and construction supervision services for our clients – including some of the world’s largest renewable energy investors, developers and EPCs, covering the entire project life-cycle (feasibility studies, design, construction, commissioning, operation and repowering of PV plants).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Skyray is scaling up its activities in the UK with activity on more than 1GW of solar projects and is looking for a talented Solar Project Manager. The role will be a mixture of managing existing projects and developing business and commercial activities in the UK with the support of the technical expert team based in Lyon and our Partners based in UK. This is a technical role but the ability to work with clients and interface seamlessly with an internal team is essential.

The candidate is also expected to have, or be willing to develop the required technical skills for the role if required such as site supervision/construction monitoring, tender support, PV plant design, energy assessments, etc.

Our ideal candidate would be a construction or design manager for an EPC looking for a change but we are flexible in the level of previous experience since there are likely to be multiple roles and development support can be provided according to the profile/experience of the selected candidate.

Main tasks:

As project manager :

  • Development: provide technical support to Solar Project Owners along the different phases of the project (feasibility, design, permitting, tendering for construction).

  • Construction: an important part of the work will be on site. You will supervise the construction, control and quality to ensure construction works run smoothly and on time.

  • Cost: control internal costs to make sure the job is done within the budget agreed with the client.

  • Coordinate: ensure coordination of the various project stakeholders (clients, external service providers, subcontractors, etc.).

As business developer :

  • Business development: attend events, contact clients, receive and manage customer requests for support

  • Commercial: prepare and support leads and proposals

  • Regulation/standard: be familiar with the main national and international standards applicable to PV plants in UK and propose any optimisation/adjustments to existing internal methods and processes.
