WHAT YOU WILL DO

Your Role and Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced High Voltage (HV) Engineer to act as the internal and external reference for substations, underground cables, and overhead lines related to PV and BESS projects. The successful candidate will also contribute to internal knowledge development and capitalization of lessons learned. 

Projects are located in France and across Europe, and the engineer will support local teams in the UK, Portugal, and Italy. 

Your Main tasks

As HV Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing across two key areas:

1. Development support

Actively support solar and BESS project owners, offering technical advice during design, permitting, and construction tendering phases.

  • Study Phase (pre-FEED / FEED): design, sizing, and securing technical choices
  • Tender Phase (Owner’s Engineer): preparation of technical documentation, analysis and comparison of EPC/supplier offers, support during selection
  • Execution Phase (Owner’s Engineer): review and validation of design studies, construction supervision, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and compliance with applicable standards

2. Technical Expertise & Internal Support 

As the High Voltage (HV) expert for PV and BESS projects, you will report directly to the Head of the Electrical Department. Although this role does not involve direct people management, you will actively contribute to internal skills development and the capitalization of lessons learned by:
  • Supporting the development of the technical skills of your engineering colleagues
  • Structuring and sharing lessons learned and best practices to improve processes

PROFILE

Education

  • Engineering degree in electrical engineering or equivalent 

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HV projects (225/400 kV substations, underground cables, overhead lines). Alternatively, we may also be interested in EPC experience with HTB intervention over a minimum period of 4 years.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: 

    • EPC / Contractor: execution, construction, and commissioning of HV infrastructure 
    • Engineering firm / Design office: design, technical studies, calculations, and HV specifications 
  • Experience in an Owner’s Engineer or Client Representative role is a plus 

  • Experience in PV and/or BESS projects is appreciated 

Technical and Soft Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HV networks and grid connection requirements 

  • Proficiency with electrical calculation tools (PowerFactory, ETAP, Caneco, or equivalent) 

  • Solid understanding of HV standards and norms (IEC 60076, IEC 62271, IEEE, ENA, RTE DTR, etc.) 

  • Understanding of specific constraints related to PV & BESS projects (Grid Code, network dynamics, flexibility) 

Languages

  • Fluency in French is essential 

  • Professional English required (international collaboration)

Working conditions

  • Salary: From €55,000, depending on profile and experience . Our merit-based remuneration process rewards performance. We also offer profit share, health insurance, meal allowance and an incentive for environmentally friendly transportation.

  • Permanent contract with a fixed number of days allowing for RTT and flexible working arrangements (on-site in Lyon / remote work / occasional travel)
