Skyray is a fast-growing company specialized in the design, engineering, and execution of large-scale photovoltaic and energy storage projects connected to MV/HV grids.
A subsidiary of the Everoze group—an independent and renowned renewable energy consultancy—Skyray supports complex projects across France and Europe, with offices in Lyon, Lisbon, Bristol, and Milan.

About SkyPerformance :

SkyPerformance is Skyray’s engineering team for internal digital tools and analytics services, dedicated to the performance assessment and operational analysis of energy assets. Its technical platform is built around internal python-based analytics libraries, which supports data ingestion, quality control, calculation of contractual KPIs and performance analysis.

Your Role :

Your mission is to support the delivery and continuous improvement of SkyPerformance’s performance assessment services. You will work on real energy projects, combining engineering analysis, time-series data processing and Python-based tools to assess asset performance, identify losses and operating issues, and produce robust technical results. Alongside project delivery, you will contribute to improving and automating analytical workflows and to the development of our internal libraries, helping make SkyPerformance’s methods more reproducible and scalable. Depending on project needs and interests, you may also contribute to the development of new assessment methods for areas such as BESS, repowering and operational optimisation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Your Main tasks

1. Performance assessment & project analysis:

Prepare, process and analyze operational data from energy assets; calculate and interpret contractual performance indicators; investigate underperformance, losses and operating behaviour; contribute to contractual and operational performance assessments.

2. Engineering investigations:

Perform deeper technical analyses on plant behaviour, losses and operating conditions using physical, statistical and data-driven approaches; support root-cause analysis for non-standard performance issues.

3. Reporting & project delivery:

Prepare clear, traceable and client-ready technical results, figures and report inputs; progressively take ownership of standard SkyPerformance analyses under supervision.

4. Analytics automation & SRPVAnalytics:

Improve reusable Python workflows for data preparation, quality control, KPI calculation, visualisation and reporting; contribute analytical methods and functions to SRPVAnalytics.

5. New service development:

Contribute to the exploration and prototyping of new performance-assessment services according to SkyPerformance priorities, potentially including BESS, repowering, portfolio benchmarking and operational optimisation.

PROFILE

Minimum Qualifications

  • Final-year engineering student or Master’s student in Energy, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science for Energy, or a related field.

  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to connect numerical results to physical system behaviour.

  • Good Python fundamentals and experience working with data, ideally using pandas and/or NumPy.

  • Comfortable working with time-series data, spreadsheets and structured datasets.

  • Clear written and spoken English & French (C1 minimum); ability to document methods and communicate technical findings.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, renewable energy or power systems.

  • Experience with optimisation, statistical modelling, energy modelling or time-series analysis.

  • Familiarity with PVSyst,PVlib, SQL, Git or data-visualisation tools.

  • Interest in BESS, energy storage performance or hybrid renewable-energy systems.

How You’ll Be Measured (Outcomes)

  • Progressive autonomy in the delivery of standard performance-assessment analyses on real client projects.

  • Reliable and well-documented analytical outputs, with clear traceability from raw data to engineering conclusions.

  • Tangible improvements to reusable analysis workflows and internal repertories.

  • Contribution to at least one deeper technical investigation or non-standard analysis beyond routine KPI calculation.

  • Contribution to the exploration, prototype or methodology development of at least one emerging SkyPerformance service area, depending on project opportunities.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Hands-on involvement in real energy-performance projects, within the renewable energy sector, from data preparation and engineering analysis through reporting and delivery.

  • A hands-on mentorship PhD in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of PV R&D and experience at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data engineering and solar PV analytics taking analytics from research to production in enterprise data/engineering environments.

  • The opportunity to develop both engineering judgement and practical Python/data-analysis skills on real operational datasets.

  • Exposure to the development of new analytics services and methods as SkyPerformance expands beyond its current core activities.

To apply:

  • Send a short note with your availability and any relevant academic, engineering or data-analysis projects. Include links to GitHub or a portfolio where applicable.
